I did my oral report on TJ and my classmates responded....Are they just trying to make me feel better, or like...what? Either way, I am happy floating on my little cloud nine right now :)
I agree with what Andrea wrote at the end of the summary. Jefferson was probably just being a smart politician and telling the people what he knew they wanted to hear.
I think Andrea found a very balanced position on a controversial topic.
I think Andrea did an excellent job presenting Finkleman's argument.
This report was a good summary of the issues surrounding Jefferson and slavery. I found that the most valuable comments were made toward the end of the essay.
I feel that Andrea does a great job in giving us several perceptions of what kind of man Jefferson was... at least when it comes to slavery... I think Andrea did a good job.
